My Philosophy

Philosophy is described as a “a theory or attitude that acts as a guiding principle for behaviour”, and as the new year began I began thinking of my own.

In only the first month of 2021, I’ve done things I didn’t think I would ever do. For example starting a plant business and making a blog, and a lot of that has been because of my evolving philosophy. At the time, that’s not what I would have called it but yes it is a philosophy, one that has been changing and adapting as the years go by. As the month of January is nearing its end, I’ve stopped to consider my current philosophy once more but this time it’s different – this time I’m writing it down on here. And as I’ve learnt from starting this blog, writing enables you to discover  new things about yourself. Having to transfer my thoughts onto paper means I have to dwell on them more thoroughly – what do I feel and why am I feeling this way?

This ties into one of my philosophies that I’ve been trying to perform and that is ‘respond, not react’. Responding means I’ve considered and contemplated my actions, making them more logical, whilst reacting only involves acting on my feelings. In the end, I want my actions to be rational – not reckless.
