Illusion of Achievement

Some days I find myself doing a lot of work, ticking all the boxes and getting through many activities and whilst this is all great I often confuse this large amount of activity as an achievement. Doing all these things within a day makes me feel productive, but as many know it is quality over quantity. Before taking the day off to rest, thinking “I’ve done so much work today, I deserve a break”, ponder over what you accomplished, not what you did. They seem like the same thing right?

Achievement means you have accomplished something, whilst activity means you’ve just done something. I could have spent the entire days reading chapters and chapters of my textbook, and watching every lecture I have, but if I can’t say that I’ve recalled anything from that time then can I really say I achieved my goal of studying?

No. It’s not enough to do something, you need to do it well. That’s the only way you are going to get the results you want, and actually achieve something!
