Attempting a Rubik’s Cube

I’ve always thought of the rubik’s cube as a form of entertainment – something to pass time, but never quite finish, because in my head I saw it as impossible. And that’s the way I looked at the 3D object for years… until a week ago. I set eyes upon the cube this week, but this time I was determined to complete it, but of course I had help!

I was always aware that there was a series of steps required to finish the cube, it wasn’t just luck. But what I imagined in my head was a series of complicated algorithms which was why I was reluctant on starting. Once I began, it was just that a series of patterns, but when I was doing it, it didn’t feel like it because at that point it was muscle memory. I was of course very clumsy at the start, never getting past the first few steps, but with some guidance I got the hang of it and now I can finally say I can complete a rubik’s cube – something I thought only geniuses could do!

This only proves that if you put a few hours into anything, you’ll grow to be better at it!
