Do you ever have a task or issue you find to be the most important thing on earth – you spend all day and night engulfed in it , and then a few weeks later you think back on how minor the concern was? That means it was never a problem, but just a mere inconvenience.
Problems are life-changing, inconveniences are just that – they’re inconvenient, they may cause some distress and trouble during the present but within some time it will be as if they never existed. If you remember this, in the future most of your “problems” won’t seem like problems at all, and thus your attitude towards them will alter. You will be able to respond, rather than simply react with emotions because you are able to differentiate between the two, and thus acknowledge the variation in significance problems and inconvenience can have.
So next time you find yourself stressed out, ask yourself ‘is this a large problem?, or just a minor inconvenience’?
