For the past few months, I’ve been using Google Calendar as a way to manage my tasks, and whilst that has been useful in seeing how I spend my day it does not allow me to keep track of the hours spent on youtube, university, work amongst other things. And without these details, there’s no way of me knowing what I need to improve on. As a result, I am attempting to find a new system of task management that work for me.
Whilst researching, I’ve come across the Grocery story method which is the most popular but that method is too simplistic for me, and I am someone who likes to go into detail of what I did in a day – it also doesn’t allow me to see how much time I spent on each task. Other methods I found were apps such as Text Editor and ‘Getting Things Done’, but these look too complicated. I want something easy to use, and that when I came across the idea of using Google Sheets!
I use it all the time for other things, even to keep track of the finance for my plant business so I don’t know why I didn’t think of using it for task management. With Google Sheets I’m also able to identify how many hours I’m investing in each task. So think week I’m going to attempt to use the spreadsheets, and will see whether I find it to be an effective system.
